Hi, Guilherme here. Thank you for the 18 new subscribers since the last publication. Hope you enjoy this one.
GetCyberLeads, created by Alex West, helps clients find companies that just raised millions that are looking to outsource their services.
Alex launched has been running this business for about 2.5 years right now. It is now successful enough for him to live off of it. But it took 19 failed attempts to get to this point. 19! That’s a 1 and a 9, you read that right. This, for me, is the perfect example of 2 things in the solopreneurship world:
It takes a lot of perseverance to find that one thing;
Success doesn’t happen overnight, or on the first try.
The basic gist of GetCyberLeads, from a client perspective, is pretty simple: you sign-up for the service and, every month, receive a curated list of ~1500 leads for your business, with 20+ data points per company, likely to outsource field and CEO info & verified emails. Simple and clear value for the client. The product is aimed at agencies.
From an operational perspective, Alex spends about 100+ hours every month gathering the information. This might seem like a lot, but the truth is that it is not. It’s less than half of what a normal work month would be, with all the benefits of being your own boss. Alex prides himself on calling his lunch break the end of the working day. And I think that’s an amazing way of looking at the benefits of having your own business.
So, what about numbers? GetCyberLeads offers 3 pricing plans:
Basic: $197/month, access to ~1500 leads;
Premium: $297/month, access to ~1500 leads, founders’ info and emails, and possible partnerships with other agencies;
Autopilot: $1,497/month, access to ~1500 leads, founders’ info and emails, possible partnerships with other agencies, and everything run on autopilot (you only care about the end result - getting the lead).
How is this working for Alex? Well, given a recent tweet from him, I would say pretty well:
He is aiming to reach $1M ARR and seems to be on the right path to do so.
Monetizing curated lists
I’ve added a new section to Building products for Solopreneurs around creating and monetizing curated lists. Check it out if you want to follow the path of Alex and GetCyberLeads:
